Mi Amore Receives 11 Foundation Grant

The 11 Foundation of Winthrop has given a grant to Mi Amore to support services for a Winthrop family in need.

The grant will be used to fund recreational and sports activities for children in the family as well as helping to provide housing to enable the family to stay in Winthrop.

11 Foundation“We are extremely appreciative of the 11 Foundation for participating in our mission,” said Mi Amore Director Jeff Carson. “This is an amazing gift that allows these children to hone their talents and participate in activities that they enjoy while staying in a community that supports them.”

Mi Amore recently expanded its mission beyond food recovery and provision to include a range of services and interventions to support local families.

The 11 Foundation was created in memory of Michael J. Mason, a gifted student-athlete, exemplary competitor, and unassuming leader. The foundation honors his kind and generous spirit by providing Winthrop residents and Bentley University students with many of the opportunities and advantages that he enjoyed.

“Mase loved living in this community, and we’re thrilled to be able to give back and help a family stay in town and enjoy everything it has to offer,” Karen Mason said.
