As an all-volunteer organization, Mi-Amore relies completely on the support from the community to fulfill its mission of recovering food to distribute to needy families as well as providing other emergency services to them. This year, with a generous gift from MSA Mortgage and Bob Deeb, Mi-Amore was able to deliver Thanksgiving meals to 53 families across town.
Deeb has been a long time supporter of Mi Amore.
“I care deeply about the Winthrop community,” Deeb explained. “I raised my children in this town and now my grandchildren. You never know when you’ll need the help of others, so we all must do our part. This is a special town and I’m honored to assist Mi Amore in their efforts of making life a little easier for those struggling. We are all in this together.”
The support from MSA mortgage helped to provide boxes filled with turkeys and other dinner ingredients to make an entire holiday meal for families in need.
“We really appreciate what MSA Mortgage and Bob Deeb have done to provide a wonderful, memorable celebration for these families,” said Mi Amore founder, Jeff Carson. “We especially think about the children and how much of an impact it will have on them to know that people in their community care.”
